Welcome to The Complete Cynic’s Guide to Dating, Marriage, and Divorce.
Why would I call this blog “Complete Cynic?” After all, I am referred to as “Philosopher of Happiness” for the Daily Inspiration – Daily Quote blog and email that I have published since 2008. Moreover, I am very happily married to a wonderful woman, and I am healthy, happy, and have a positive outlook on life.
This blog is named the “Complete Cynic” because I believe that most relationships are based on a lack of self-esteem, a lack of insight into what either of the partners really value in the long term, and basically a complete lack of realism about the relationship. That is why I label myself a “Complete Cynic” about relationships and offer my opinions and advice to those with relationship issues.
What do I know about relationships? I have no degrees or training in relationships, The insights I offer come from 66 years of living and 45 years of either being in one of four marriages, ending a relationship, or beginning a relationship. I am also an astute observer of human nature in action. If you care to listen to my opinions and advice, do so at your own risk.
As the “Complete Cynic,” I offer these three rules for dating, marriage, and romantic love:
2) If you must, just be careful.
3) Forget the rules, your hormones will win anyway.
Now that you understand the ground rules, know that I do believe that great relationships are possible. Read my articles on…
